Objetivos docentes específicos

An awareness will be raised of the different categories of existing journalistic text-types, thereby enabling the exploration of a wide range of classes of text linked with these same paradigms, not only in linguistic terms, keeping in mind the interaction of the English and Spanish languages, but also in terms of their cultural contextualization. In a a similarly analytical way, attention will be paid to other kinds of journalistic models, especially those associated with radio journalism. This same analytical approach will contribute to the effective translation of these texts which constitutes the ultimate aim of this Course. / Se darán a conocer las distintas categorías de géneros periodísticos para así poder explorar toda una tipología de textos asociados con estos paradigmas, no sólo en términos lingüísticos, sino también en función de su contextualización cultural. Asimismo, se prestará atención a otras clases de modelo periodístico, como el radiofónico. Esta preparación analítica posibilitará la práctica efectiva de la traducción de estos textos, objetivo principal de esta materia.

- The carrying out of effective translations into Spanish of journalistic texts of different kinds. / Realización eficaz de traducciones al español de textos periodísticos de diverso género.
- The capacity to produce texts translated from journalistic sources, while foregrounding the objectives of high quality and market-based competitiveness. / Capacidad de producir textos traducidos de la prensa con un alto nivel de calidad y capaces, en principio, de competir en el mercado editorial.

2. The linguistic and extra-linguistic characteristics relevant to the translation of journalistic texts, Spanish-to-English, English-to-Spanish. / Los aspectos lingüísticos y extralingüísticos relevantes para la traducción de textos periodísticos inglés-español, español-inglés.
3. Radio Journalism: the specific characateristics which impinge upon its translation. / El periodismo radiofónico: las peculiaridades de su traducción.
4. Areas of Research in the translation of journalistic texts. / Líneas de investigación en la traducción de textos periodísticos.
