Technology-Based Businesses: EBT
Technology-Based Businesses are companies created to operate services or offer products that require the use of technology or knowledge developed through research activity.
Also known as spin-offs or academic spin-offs, these businesses emerge from academic environments which base their development in one of the principle assets found in research centres: knowledge. In this way, years of research work is materialised in a process, product or service destined to the market, and this type of company becomes a tool to access it.
The University of Seville promotes these businesses by means of the Competition of Business Initiatives, which awards the best technology-based businesses and the best innovative ideas, which developed from University of Seville professors and students.
